Local SEO in Wolverhampton, done properly
Local SEO is the work that helps people nearby find you on Google: in the map, in the ordinary results, and on the listing they check before they ring. We are a two person studio in Wolverhampton. We do the work ourselves, explain it in plain English and show you each month what it did.
What you get
- Google Business Profile setup and upkeep
- Claimed or created in your own Google account, completed in full and verified. After that we keep it current, with posts, new photos, correct hours and replies to reviews.
- On page search work
- Page titles, descriptions, headings and structured data on your website, so Google can tell what each page is about and where you work. Structured data is a short block of code that describes your business to search engines.
- Local listings
- Your business name, phone number and area set out the same way on the directories and maps that list you. Mismatched details make Google less sure who you are.
- Reviews advice
- A direct review link, a QR code and a routine for asking every finished customer, plus help replying to reviews, the glowing ones and the awkward ones. We never write, buy or reward reviews.
- Content
- A page for each service you want to be found for, and answers to the questions customers actually ask, written for people first.
- A plain monthly report
- What people searched, what they clicked and how many got in touch. It comes with Care+ and Partner.
Process
How it works
Where you stand now
We search for your business the way a customer nearby would, in the map and in the ordinary results, and look at your profile, your website and the places you are listed. Then we tell you what we found, in plain English.
Your Google Business Profile first
The listing is what puts you in the map, so it comes first. The right category, your services and hours, real photos and a review link, all in your own Google account.
The website, page by page
Page titles, descriptions, headings and structured data, a clear page for each service, and your details written the same way everywhere. If the site needs more than that, we say so.
Listings and reviews
Your business details matched on the directories and maps that list you, and a simple routine for asking every finished customer for a review.
Content that answers real questions
Guides and answers to what your customers type into Google, written from what you actually know about the job.
Monthly work and a plain report
The work carries on each month. On Care+ and Partner you get a report of what people searched, what they clicked and how many got in touch.
Who this is for
Right for you if
Any business that wants more customers from the area it serves, whether people come to you or you go to them. You might have a website already, only a Google Business Profile, or nothing yet.
Probably not us if
You want a guaranteed position, page one by a set date, or results in a fortnight. Nobody can honestly promise those. Or you want a national campaign across hundreds of towns, which we are not the right size for.
Setting up your Google Business Profile is £110, one off. Ongoing search work is part of our Care+ plan at £149.99 a month and our Partner plan at £299.99 a month, or can be quoted on its own. See the full pricing
What local SEO is, in plain words
SEO stands for search engine optimisation: the work that helps a search engine understand your business and show it to the right people. Local SEO is the part aimed at the people near you.
When someone searches for “accountant Wolverhampton” or “cafe near me”, Google usually shows a map with a few businesses on it before any ordinary results. Those businesses come from Google Business Profiles. The results underneath come mostly from websites. So local SEO is two jobs at once. Your profile decides whether you appear in the map. Your website and your listings help Google trust that you are real, that you do what you say and that you work where you say.
Google’s own help pages say local results depend mainly on how relevant a business is to the search, how far it is from the person searching, and how well known it is. Nobody can move your business closer to the person searching. The other two are what we work on.
How long it takes
Months, not days. Google usually picks up a change to your profile or your website within days or weeks, once it has looked at the page again. How far that change moves you is Google’s decision. It depends on who else wants the same searches, how many recent reviews you have and how long your business has been visible online.
Our own site is a fair example. It went live on 23 September 2026. On 28 October 2026 it was first on Google for “office 365 support wolverhampton” and third for “google business profile setup wolverhampton”. For busier searches such as “web design wolverhampton”, where other studios have been building up for years, it was nowhere near the first page. That is normal for a young site, and it is why we talk about local SEO in months.
Positions change every day, so treat those as a snapshot rather than a promise.
Proof from Wolverhampton
Ola Coffee & Brunch opened on Bushbury Lane on 6 October 2026, with no website. We set up its Google Ads to send local people to its Google listing, where the menu, the opening hours and directions already were. From 12 to 27 October 2026, Google recorded 148 taps on Directions to the café, and 90 of them came from Google Maps. That was paid advertising rather than SEO, and we would not pass it off as anything else. What it does show is how much local searching starts on the map, and why a complete, accurate listing matters.
Detailing Sanctuary, Patrick’s own mobile detailing business in Wolverhampton, shows the website side. Each service has its own page, so a search like “ceramic coating Wolverhampton” has somewhere specific to land, and the towns the van covers are set out plainly.
What it costs

Both include hosting and content updates, and a rolling plan has a six month minimum.
- Search work on its own, or on a website we did not build: quoted first, once we have looked at the site.
We are not VAT registered, so these are the whole price. Every figure is also on our pricing page.
Being straight about rankings
Nobody can promise you a position on Google. We promise the work, done properly. Google decides the order, it changes how it decides several times a year, and your competitors get a say too. If someone guarantees you the top spot, ask them which search they mean and what happens when they miss it.
What we will do is the work each month, show you what happened, and tell you plainly when something is not working. If local SEO is not what will help you most right now, we will say so.
Part of the wider picture
Local SEO sits alongside the rest of our digital marketing in Wolverhampton, which also covers content and video adverts. If your website is what is holding you back, our page on web design in Wolverhampton covers the build. And if you would rather start on your own, our guide to getting your business on Google Maps walks through the profile step by step.
Questions about local SEO in Wolverhampton
What is local SEO, in simple words?
It is the work that helps Google show your business to people nearby who are searching for what you do. Most of it comes down to four things telling Google the same clear story. Those are your Google Business Profile, your website, the places your business is listed and your reviews.
How long does local SEO take to show results?
Months rather than days. Google usually picks up a change within days or weeks, but how far it moves you depends on your competitors, your reviews and how established your business is online. We show you what changed each month, so you can judge it on what actually happened.
How much does local SEO cost?
With us, setting up your Google Business Profile is £110, one off. Ongoing search work is part of our Care+ plan at £149.99 a month or our Partner plan at £299.99 a month, and a rolling plan has a six month minimum. Search work on its own, or on a website we did not build, is quoted after we have looked at it. We are not VAT registered, so those are the whole price.
Is SEO worth it?
It depends on whether people search for what you sell in the area you cover. If they do, being easy to find matters, and a good part of the groundwork only has to be done once. If hardly anyone searches for it, we will tell you, and suggest where your money would do more.
Can I do local SEO myself, or do I need an SEO company?
You can do a lot of it yourself. Filling in your Google Business Profile properly and asking every finished customer for a review are two of the biggest jobs, and neither needs us. Where we help most is the website, the listings and keeping it all going month after month while you get on with the work you are paid for.
Do I need a page for every town I cover?
No. Pages that are the same apart from the town name are what Google's spam policies call doorway pages, and they do not help customers either. Write about a town when you have something real to say about it, such as jobs you have done there. One clear page per service, with your service area set on your Google Business Profile, does more.
Do I need a website for local SEO?
Not to start. A complete Google Business Profile can bring in calls and visits on its own. A website gives Google more to go on, and gives customers somewhere to check you out before they ring, so the two work best together.
We work face to face across Wolverhampton, Bilston, Wednesfield, Willenhall, Walsall, Dudley, Cannock, Telford, Stafford and Birmingham, and remotely with businesses anywhere in England. Most of it happens over email and video either way, so where you are matters less than whether we are the right fit. How a build actually runs
